It’s hard work being a parent right now with all the pressures that have been facing people for the last few months, says a Ramsey-based life coach
Mother of three Zoe Chestnut-Cubbon, aged 36, said: ’It’s hard work being a parent, especially in today’s high pressure world and it is not a surprise that the balance of family, work and personal life can be a struggle.’
The Manxwoman has had years of experience assisting families but has now decided to branch out on her own.
She told the Manx Independent the last three months or so have caused problems for families and added: ’Every family is different and no problem is petty in the life of a family. I’ve already received a really positive feedback.
’Obviously there is a lot of pressure on families and extra support is always welcome.’
She added: ’Families are all so different. Some families are managing well but there is the added pressure of things like home schooling, you have parents trying to work from home at the same time, there are families with ill relatives, people with financial worries as well, it’s different for a lot of people.’
Mrs Chestnut-Cubbon (pictured) is married to Andrew Cubbon, who works in human resources and they have two sons aged 15 and 13 and a daughter aged eight. She sent this message: ’I have three children of my own, so whilst my advice is professional, it also comes with a full understanding of parenting realities.
’I’m not here to teach you to be a parent, but I am here to help you build a positive, fulfilling path forward for you and your family. Every family is different and every family had their own strengths and weaknesses - your support will be tailor made to suit you and your individual needs.’
Mrs Chestnut-Cubbon said that as a parent coach she can help people to identify their strengths and address any challenges they may be facing.
She said: ’Every parent has the potential to be a great parent, the parent they want to be, and I am here to help them fulfill that role to their absolute best whilst simultaneously creating harmony in the family home. She qualified with a First Class BA honours in childhood and youth studies, a diploma in child psychology and various accreditations in parenting and mentoring.
She hosts virtual coaching sessions, providing independent, objective advice to parents across the island.
On her Facebook page she said: ’Communication is key. You want your child to feel like they can talk to you, about anything. You want them to share their lives with you, the good and the bad.’
