A fun run and walk, which fundraises towards a breast cancer charity, takes place this weekend.

Members of the public are encouraged to wear pink fancy dress while taking part in the Booby Bear’s Fun Run & Walk, which had been postponed due to weather conditions.

The event by Manx Breast Cancer Support Group (MBCSG) and supported by Dandara will be held at Mooragh Park, Ramsey, this Saturday (October 26) at 4.30pm. The last chance to register before the event is today (Thursday) with on-the-day registrations at 3.30pm at the park.

Event organiser and a founder of MBCSG, Julie Stokes, said: ’It is real shame we had to postpone the event but it was absolutely the best and the right decision to make. It will now fall on our annual Isle of Woman Pink Weekend, where we’ll have lots of other fundraising fun and events going in on so it is all fitting together nicely!’

Participants will complete up to three laps of the park. Check-in opens from 3.30pm at the charity’s pink gazebo, at Ramsey Rugby Club car park.

It’s £5 for children, which includes bunny ears, a MBC medal, sausage bap and a fruit juice, or for £10 they get a limited edition Booby Bear Blingy Medal. For £15, adults also get a choice of pink G&T included. All proceeds go to the charity and the CT scanner appeal.
