Users and volunteers of Graih, a homeless charity in Douglas, received a Christmas meal entirely cooked and funded by members of the public on Saturday.
Around 50 people shared a roast turkey with all the trimmings, which was donated by residents and cooked by Robinson’s staff members.
The event took place at Broadway Baptist Church.
Michael Manning, the coordinator of the homeless charity, said: ’Everyone really enjoyed it and we had a great laugh. It’s a good mix of guys and volunteers at Graih.
’We’re really grateful for those who donated and came down to help, including Robinsons who cooked the big meal. We also had Ramsey Choir sing for us and Markwell House help out,’ he added.
’We will be open throughout the Christmas and New Year period. Although Graih will be closed during Christmas and Boxing day, but will be open in the evenings where we will have more meals together.’
The charity is based at the Alpha Centre on Broadway and has been running since 2008.
