Demolition and plant hire firm JCK Ltd is sponsoring The Big Splash in its 2022 Wild in Art trail, which will see a number of dolphin sculptures placed across the island, as a large sculpture sponsor.

According to Hospice Isle of Man, this is the largest mass participation art event to ever come to the Isle of Man with a trail of 30 lifesize dolphins and 30 dolphin calves on a public art trail live around the island for 12 weeks from May to September 2022. JCK Ltd also supported the similar Wallabies Gone Wild trail in 2019.

James Cubbon, managing director of JCK Ltd, said: ’I enjoyed being involved in the wallaby campaign which raised awareness of Hospice Isle of Man and was a great family event.

’We all know someone who has had the wonderful care of Hospice, either at Strang or Hospice at Home and we look forward to seeing the dolphins around the island during the summer months of 2022.’

Anne Mills, chief executive of Hospice Isle of Man, said: ’Having JCK Ltd come on board as a sculpture sponsor for The Big Splash is truly a fantastic honour. They have been a great support to us over the years and our relationship with them just continues to get stronger. After the immense challenges that us and the world have faced over the last 18 months, The Big Splash will help local people and tourists to appreciate the island all over again.’

The Big Splash project has more 25 schools from across the island working with its education team to help design the baby dolphins which form part of the trail in 2022.

The sculptures will be put on the trail in spring this year.
