Hospice’s annual ’Light up a Life’ service this Sunday will now take place virtually rather than in person.
The charity has made the decision with Covid-19 numbers in the island increasing.
A statement from Hospice said: ’The safety of our patients, their families and our supporters is of the upmost importance to us and we don’t want to risk causing a spike in cases with attendees of our event being in such close proximity.
’Please know that remembering your loved ones is so very important to us and therefore we would still like us all to get together ’virtually’ for Light up a Life.
’Our virtual service will go live on our Facebook page, YouTube and our website www.hospice.org.im/virtual on Sunday, December 5, at 5pm.
’During the service, we will ask you to join us in the switching on lights in an act of remembrance. Therefore available from our Hospice building and our Hospice shops from Thursday lunchtime will be tea lights and our usual badge.’
