The roof of a house in Port Erin was destroyed by a lightning strike today.

It’s understood there was nobody in the property, at Ponyfields, at the time.

Manx Utilities is investigating whether lightning interrupted electricity supplies to properties in Ballakillowey and Colby.

The Met Office says thundery conditions are continuing over the south west of the island.
