A boy from Castletown is raising funds for Foodbank IoM and Victoria Road Primary School.
Hugo Cowley, aged 7, is in Year 2 at Victoria Road and is asking people to donate to his project, which will help people who use the Foodbank during times of need.
He has posted a video online via his Just Giving page and said he wants to give something back to pupils at his school as well: ’During these difficult times the Foodbank needs our support to help those less fortunate. I am going to donate 75% of the proceeds made to the Foodbank, and 25% will be used to throw a small party for everyone at my school to thank them for all their acts of kindness and hard work during the pandemic.’
So far, Hugo has raised over his target of £1,000, with £1,580 being donated as the Courier went to press.
Hugo’s father, Ian Cowley, said he’s very proud: ’He came up with the idea himself. The party will be a thank you for the pupils’ hard work over lockdown, making cakes and leaving them outside people’s houses and things. He’s done really well.’
