Villagers are being asked to nominate ’unsung heroes’ from Port St Mary for an annual award.

Local commissioners want to recognise those who have made an ’outstanding contribution’ to the village, such as those who help elderly neighbours or volunteer at community events.

Nomination forms are available at the authority’s offices at Port St Mary town hall, or via its website.

The deadline for submissions closes on January 31.

Commissioners will choose the winner of the community recognition award, and presented them with a certificate and a voucher.
