Three...two...one...lift off!

Darren Jackson and Stephanie Quayle’s latest mission to create an ice sculpture to entertain Christmas shoppers has been declared a success.

The colour-changing ice rocket, complete with special effects to give it the impression that it’s ready for blast off, took shape in front of shoppers throughout Saturday morning.

People could then be seen taking a close-up look of the out of this world ice sculpture and taking photos with it.

Darren and Stephanie’s spectacular ice sculptures have become a firm fixture in Douglas’s festive calendar.

Last year they created an aircraft out of ice and the year before that, they carved a train.

This year’s sculpture was sponsored by the Hubb, in Victoria Street, Douglas.
