Scottish indie-rockers The Fratellis are heading to the Isle of Man in July.

The popular chart-topping guitar band are set to play at the Villa Marina on July 12 .

The group are currently hitting the comeback trail, having taken a lengthy break from playing, writing and performing.

Up until then the Fratellis, who took their name from the criminal gang in the 80s classic comedy action film ’The Goonies’, were an ever-present name in the charts.

Their debut album, Costello Music spawned hit single after hit single, and the infuriatingly catchy and infectious chorus lines employed by the band made sure that their most popular songs, such as ’Chelsea Dagger’, ’Henrietta and Whistle for the Choir’, plus their underground success of ’Creeping Up The Backstairs’, which was never released as a single but still managed to worm its way into mainstream radio play lists, remain lodged in the consciousness of music fans the world over.

They were named ’Best British Breakthrough Act’ at the Brit Awards in 2007, and went onto tour across Europe and America.

Having taken a break between 2009 and 2012, the band returned to writing and touring and, to this date, have released four albums, with the most recent being 2015’s ’Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied’.

Tickets are £25, available from the Villa Marina box office. Doors open at 7pm. Support is yet to be confirmed.
