The island’s rate of inflation has risen.
The annual rate measured by the consumer prices index jumped from 1.3% in March to 1.9% April, government figures released today show.
The cost of air travel is up 8.3% in 12 months, while sea travel has risen by 3.1%.
Vegetables are up 8.4% and cheese is 8.2% more expensive, while tea is 13.8% cheaper.
The figures say that the cost of rent has fallen by 1.4%, while gas has not changed and oil is 4.5% up,
