An island-based author followed up the successful launch of their latest novel with a book signing in Ramsey.

Rakie Bennett appeared at the Bridge Bookshop in Parliament Street to sign copies of their latest pyschological thriller ’The Weekend Escape’, after it was released in paper back form last week.

Prior to that, the novel, published by Harper Collins, had been released solely as an e-book, which had already proved successful.

The book has been included in a promotional deal with the huge supermarket chain, Asda, alongside works by many top authors.

’The book signing went great, and I think everyone had a really fun time,’ said Rakie.

’Sales so far have been very positive. The ebook edition was a number one bestseller on Amazon after its release last year, and the audiobook release, via Audible, is doing great as well. It’s currently in the top 100 domestic thriller audiobooks.

’The paperback has got a boost in England with an Asda promotion, which is very exciting.

’Feedback and reviews via Amazon, Audible, Netgalley, and people randomly stopping me in the street has also been great!

’Everyone is responding so positively to it, it’s fantastic.’

’The Weekend Escape’ is Rakie’s third book, following ’Little Girls Tell Tales’ and their debut novel ’The Flood’.
