A new volume of the successful Island Kitchen cookery book has been launched.

It features recipes from chefs at well-known eateries around the island, using Manx ingredients to create delicious dishes.

The book was sponsored by Robinson’s, in association with the Department for Environment, Food and Agriculture.

The event was attended by many of the chefs and producers featured in the book.

Speaking at the launch, DEFA Minister Geoffrey Boot said: ’Produced in collaboration with many of you here today, the book oozes with mouth-watering recipes showcasing our island’s passion for food and drink.

’The spirit of our island’s community, celebrating Manx produce and the wisdom of our local chefs, caterers and growers, is brought together in the pages.

’Thank you to all the chefs, from our restaurants, eateries and cafes, who came forward to share their special recipes; particularly how you work with your favourite, local produce to create a sumptuous meal.

’These recipes will be recreated in homes, both locally and further afield, filling families with a desire to eat healthily, shop locally and to enjoy a meal out on a special occasion. ’

Miles Cowsill, managing director of Lily Publications, said: ’Once again it has been a great pleasure to work with the restaurants and the catering industry on the island, with the new edition of ’The Island Kitchen Volume 2’.

’The response to the new publication has been overwhelming, both on the Isle of Man and through our web site with off-island sales. The Island Kitchen offers an outstanding showcase to the quality and high standard of the Isle of Man.’

â?¢ ’The Island Kitchen Volume 2’ is available to purchase online at www.lilypublications.co.uk price £18.95.
