The Isle of Man’s shooters were in the medals again at the NatWest Island Games in Gibraltar on Tuesday afternoon.
One day after their fellow clay shooters Alan Wade and Mark Riley won gold in the Automatic Ball Trap competition, David Walton and Robert Watterson teamed up to claim bronze in the Olympic trap team event.
The Manx duo recorded totals of 84 and 82 respectively for a combined score of 166, earning them third place by three shots from their opponents from the Faroe Islands. Menorca claimed the gold medal ahead of Sark.
That Manx bronze medal was replicated by the father and son shooting duo Nathan and Josh Holden who were competing in the ISSF 10m Air Pistol men’s team event.
Nathan recorded a total of 551 which was added to by his 14-year-old son with his score of 539 to give them a total of 1,090, only one shot off the silver medallists from Saaremaa while the Isle of Wight claimed gold.
