Samuel Gill is 14, and a year 10 student at St Ninian’s High School.
He lives in Baldrine with his parents and sister Lucy, who is 17.
Samuel recently spent a week on work experience with the Isle of Man Newspapers, where he worked alongside reporters covering events in the House of Keys and in the courts.
What is your idea of a perfect meal?
I really like both Mexican or Italian food. I especially love pasta.
What is your favourite way to relax?
I like to either binge-watch the Harry Potter series of films or reading a book on my bed.
What is your greatest extravagance?
It would have to be buying art supplies, such as paints or pens. I don’t think I can have enough.
Do you have any pets?
We have two dogs, a greyhound called George and a saluki called Charm.
What is your greatest achievement?
I have two things that I am proud of. It would be either climbing the three peaks, Snowdonia, Scafell and Ben Nevis, which I did in 2017, or getting the Normandy Veteran’s Award at my school for a school project I did during year 9, which was all about World War II.
What is your favourite time of the year?
Autumn. I love watching my dogs run through piles of leaves.
What is the first job you ever had?
I haven’t had one yet.
Do you have any irrational fears?
I don’t like spiders, or anything with more than four legs or no legs.
What is your worst habit?
Spending too much time on the internet and playing games.
What is your favourite book?
My favourite book is Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which was the first one in the series.
What is your favourite TV programme?
I haven’t got a particular favourite, but I like anything I can binge watch on the weekends.
What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?
I like the Chainsmokers, but I’d choose Ed Sheeran any day.
What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?
I love the Sound. I love the food served at the Sound cafe.
What is the last show/band that you saw live?
I saw the Chainsmokers at the Carfest South festival last year.
If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?
It would be a trip to Orlando, then a road trip around North America. That would be followed by a shopping trip around New York.

The Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, Walt Disney and the former President of America, Barack Obama.
