Matthew Chase is a 26-year-old professional actor.

Originally from the Isle of Man, he trained at the ArtsEd theatre school in London and since graduating has toured the UK for the past year, playing lead roles in various shows including Nickelodeon’s ’Paw Patrol’ and the stage adaptation of the ’Tom Gates’ book series.

Matt recently returned to the island to play Peter Pan at the Gaiety Theatre, a role he has previously played in Cardiff, opposite the American TV actor David Hasselhoff.

What is your idea of a perfect meal?

I love Mexican food so some nachos, a burrito and an IPA.

What is your favourite way to relax?

I love sitting and listening to some music or going to the cinema. I find sitting and watching a film in the cinema so therapeutic and relaxing, which feels like a real treat.

What is your greatest extravagance?

It’s nothing crazy but I spend obscene amounts on really good quality coffee. I just can’t do without it.

Do you have any pets?

No, I don’t and I had a dog whilst growing up so I really miss having a pet.

What is your greatest achievement?

Whilst I was playing the character ’Ryder’ in Paw Patrol we got to tour all around the world. We also played six sold out shows at Wembley Arena and that was an absolute dream come true.

What is your favourite time of the year?

I love the summertime in London especially when there is a football event on, like the World cup in 2018. Everyone was just so happy.

What is the first job you ever had?

I worked in the pharmacy section of Boots on Strand Street.

Do you have any irrational fears?

Not really. I used to have a really weird dislike of aftersun lotion, but I’ve gotten over that now thankfully.

What is your worst habit?

The panto cast reckon when I’m bored offstage I can get quite annoying, but I think they enjoy it all really!

What is your favourite book?

The Great Gatsby. It is only a short book, at 200 pages, but is so incredibly descriptive and vivid. I’ve read it a couple of times.

What is your favourite TV programme?

This is a hard one but probably Stranger Things. I love Sci-Fi and anything set in the 80s so it’s perfect for me.

What is your favourite band/artist at the moment?

I’m really into lots of different music but I’m obsessed with ’The 1975’. I got to see them live last year and it was amazing.

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

I love Marine Drive. I remember going there a lot when I first passed my driving test and the view is just beautiful.

What is the last show/band that you saw live?

I went to see one of my friends in ’Big-The Musical’ on The West End.

If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?

I think genuinely just a day at a music festival in summer with all my mates.
