Census officers are visiting homes across the Isle of Man to support householders who have not yet completed their Census 2026 return.

The Isle of Man Government has reminded residents that completing a census form is a legal requirement for every household, and officers will offer help and advice to enable householders to complete and return their forms from home.

Doorstep visits will take place on weekday evenings before 8pm and during the day at weekends. All census field officers are public servants, carry official identification and will be able to provide assistance on the doorstep.

According to the latest figures, 91% of census forms have already been completed.

The information collected through the census provides data on the island's population and communities and is used to help inform decisions on public services, including healthcare, education, housing and transport.

Talking about the Census back in May, Minister for the Cabinet Office David Ashford thanked those who had completed their census forms already.

‘Every completed census form counts and the rate of returns to date is excellent - thank you to every home which has taken part so far,’ he said.

‘I encourage those who haven’t yet completed their form to please find a few minutes to be part of the census.’

Householders can complete their census form online using the unique details provided in the letter sent by the Census Office in April. Forms can also be completed on paper, over the phone or in person with a census officer at the Census Office in Douglas.
