The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for frost and ice.

The areas likely to be affected are high ground above 1200ft and low-lying areas that are sheltered from the northerly wind.

The forecast:

A cold and frosty start today with temperatures around freezing and some icy patches in places.

However the day will be dry with some sunshine this morning, before turning cloudier this afternoon.

The light to moderate north to northeast wind will turn to the northwest this afternoon with highs of 6°C.

One or two passing showers are possible this evening and tonight, as the light to moderate wind settles to the west or northwest. Minimum temperature around 2°C.

Tomorrow will be dry and fairly cloudy, although some brightness may break through the cloud at times. Temperatures reaching up to 8°C at best in the light to moderate west to north-westerly wind.

Mostly dry but rather cloudy on Friday, with a light to moderate west to southwest wind. Highest temperature around 8°C.
