The Met Office has issued a weather forecast for coastal overtopping this morning.
Strong winds combined with the high tide at 11.30am are likely to result in overtopping in Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown promenade, the northern end of Douglas Promenade.
The forecast:
Isolated showers and a few sunny spells through this morning, but with outbreaks of rain developing mid-late afternoon. The strong southwest winds will veer northerly as the rain clears in the evening, with the maximum temperature 10°C. Coastal overtopping will occur around high tide, approximately 11:30am, e.g. on Shore Road, Castletown prom and northern parts of Douglas prom.
Wintry showers developing overnight into Tuesday as it turns colder, with those wintry showers continuing through Tuesday, frequent in places. Temperatures only up to 4 or 5°C and with strong northwest winds making it feel very cold.
A cold start on Wednesday with clear/sunny spells, and the risk of a shower in the morning. Strong west or northwest winds soon becoming moderate to fresh, then backing southerly overnight. Top temperature 8°C.
