Despite the lack of the usual TT fortnight festivities, bike fans still can get their fix of classy machines and the heady smell of Castrol two-stroke this weekend.
Peel Day will take place on what would have been Mad Sunday, and will feature a day’s worth of bikes, stunts, shows and music, all along the quayside and promenade.
Legendary daredevils the Purple Helmets and world champion stunt rider Steve Colley will perform along the promenade, near to the Marine Hotel, during the afternoon.
The annual Moddey Dhoo bike show will kick off the entertainment at 11am.
The show will feature bikes, ranging from the rare and the wonderful to the vintage and customised, going on display along the harbour side, with prizes being awarded at the end of the day to best bikes on show.
There will also be a stage of live music on the quayside, with rock and roll group The Boneyard playing through the afternoon.
Further along the prom, near to the Creg Malin end, there will be an extreme rally stage and an auto-test circuit, where drivers can test their motoring skills.
The Peel Hill mountain bike enduro race, postponed from earlier in the year, will also take place during the afternoon.
All activities are free, with parking available on the headlands field.
