It’s going to be windy, weather forecasters say.
The Met Office’s forecast:
The rain at first today will quickly clear away, leaving a mostly cloudy day with a continuing risk of some showery outbreaks of rain, although there should be a few bright intervals as well. It will be windy with westerly gales developing this afternoon, possibly severe gales in a few places, with gusts of 60 or 65 mph possible. Maximum temperature 7 Celsius.
Tonight the winds will ease, the early part of the night will be dry before outbreaks of rain develop later. Then tomorrow some rain at first will be replaced by dry and sunny conditions by the afternoon. Breezy again tomorrow, with fresh to strong southwest winds developing and a maximum temperature of 9 Celsius.
Early rain soon moving away on New Year’s Eve, leaving sunny intervals and scattered showers, with a continuing risk of a few showers overnight and during New Year’s Day. Winds will continue quite strong at times.
