What is your favourite way to relax?

Lost somewhere in the hills or the woods

Vegetables. I eat ridiculous amounts and it costs a fortune. Overall though the Paddison Program has enabled me to get the illness under control, so it’s worth it. It also gives me a stupid amount of energy.

Four black and white cats. I love them.

What is your greatest achievement?

Overcoming a horrific and crippling anxiety disorder via Charles Linden’s ’The Linden Method’. He taught me how to use my mind correctly. Learning how to write is a close second though.

Autumn. It’s magical.

What is the first job you ever had?

I worked in Oxfam every Saturday afternoon between ages 13 and 17. It drove my parents mad as I never actually earned any money and had to sponge off them. My mates and I did end up with cool wardrobes though.

Losing my freedom or becoming dependent on others. This drives my determination to completely recover from this illness.

I’m very intense when writing or working on the charity and dislike interruptions.

Born to Run by Christopher McDougall. It gives me faith in the human body

The band I’m in, Han-FX and JorDMC!

What is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?

Anywhere North in the hills

Hip Hop Tu Naa at Amber on Saturday. Ash Ashenafi blew me away.

If time/money were no object, what would be your perfect day?

If I was able to move unrestricted and without pain I would wake up under the sky somewhere mountainous and have an adventure which would have to include a freezing dip, then I would write for hours and finish up by meeting with either my music pals or fellow writers for some kind of performance.

Choose three people, dead or alive, to invite to dinner?

JK Rowling whose creative mind blows me away, Billie Holiday because she was so full of soul and music and tragedy and Aubrey Logan, an incredible jazz singer/ trombonist. I would pick her brains to death about her immaculate articulation as I would LOVE to be able to capture it in my own playing.
