The latest concert in a series of unique, low-key gigs has sold out in record time.
Tickets for the concert featuring UK indie singer songwriter James Walsh, front man from the chart-topping group Starsailor, sold out in less than four hours over the weekend.
Local gig organisers But First Promotions announced the concert, part of their ’Gigs at the Glen’ nights at the Colby Glen Hotel.
James will perform on Saturday, March 12, at 8pm.
Starsailor are best known for being a top-rated indie band from the early noughties and singles ’Four to the Floor and ’Silence is Easy’ helped to define the sound of guitar-led indie sound of the first decade.
James performed solo on the Isle of Man as part of the Garden Party festival in 2010.
Organiser Rob Cope said the fast ticket sales were welcome after he uncertainty of he past couple of months.
’We were absolutely delighted that James Walsh accepted our invitation to play the Colby Glen,’ said Rob.
’He has been the most requested artist to date, and is also a firm favourite of ours.
’The tickets were all taken within four hours of the announcement, which is an astonishing response, we can’t thank people enough for supporting us.
’There is a waiting list if tickets become available, and they do given the uncertainty around Covid, so please send us a message and we will put your name down.’
