The jetty on Port St Mary’s chapel beach is to get some TLC.
The concrete structure is in a bad state of disrepair said commissioners’ chairman Michelle Haywood.
’It is crumbling and not terribly safe, we want to make sure it doesn’t get any worse and that we end up losing it.’
At a recent meeting, the authority agreed to get three quotations for the work.
Acting clerk Hayley Phillips said once the quotations are received, should the board feel the authority cannot justify the expense, an option would be to approach a local MHK in relation to submitting a request to central government for funding.’
Ondce completed, work on the catwalk jetty could then be undertaken she added.
