An alarm engineer has raised £2,326 for Hospice Isle of Man after a sponsored swim.

John Andrew, who works for G4S, completed 2,264 lengths over 11 weeks, the equivalent of the 37.75 mile TT course.

The money he raised, which includes a contribution from the G4S Match It fund, was donated to Hospice Isle of Man, which cared for John’s brother-in- law, rugby player Christopher Scott, before he lost a four-year battle against cancer last October.

John said: ’I wanted to give something back for the wonderful care they gave him and his family - it’s a fantastic charity that relies on donations to remain open, and I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored me.’
