A group of King William’s College students had the unusual experience of rescuing a lamb from a cliff while kayaking.

The nine friends helped to bring the sheep belonging to John Anderson at Knockaloe Beg Farm back to Fenella Beach, Peel, while paddling with Adventurous Experiences in their summer holidays.

After getting the heads up from the farmer, they spotted the sheep on the cliffside of Peel Hill and brought it onboard their kayaks with coach Kim Tastagh tugging two of them to shore.

From there, a passerby with a van delivered the lamb safely back home.

Mel Kermeen, mum of Dollin Jansen who took part in the rescue, said: ’It had been a little get together for him and his school friends after a tough year with lockdown. It was a treat for them and it was made particularly memorable being able to rescue the lamb.’
