Beach re-profiling works between Broadway and the Empress Hotel in Douglas are set to begin on Tuesday, July 7, and are expected to take around 10 working days to complete.

Douglas City Council said the project has been agreed in consultation with the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture and will involve redistributing sand that has accumulated against the seawall to the Loch Promenade end of the beach.

During the works, heavy machinery will be operating on the beach.

A spokesperson from Douglas City Council commented: ‘For the safety of all beach users, including dog walkers, members of the public are asked to keep clear of the working area while works are in progress.

Dogs should be kept under close control and well away from the site at all times.’
