Pet owners are being encouraged to enter their spider cats, moddey dhoos or pumpkin pugs into a photo competition in aid of an animal welfare charity.

The ManxSPCA is running a ’spookiest pets’ competition asking residents to share photos of their dressed-up moggies, dogs, reptiles and more in the chance to win a pack full of treats.

Its social media competition is being held on Facebook, which asks entrants to like the charity’s page, share the spookiest pets post and comment on a photograph. Whichever photo receives the most likes will be announced as the winner.

Currently the competition has received photos of a vampire cats, a husky dressed as a ’zombie surgeon’, a pug dressed as the ’Hop tu Naa Howler’ and more.

The closing date for the contest is this Monday, October 22.
