Coronavirus claimed a second victim this weekend, the government confirmed.

News of former police sergeant and judo coach Richard Lloyd, 57, who died in the intensive care unit at Noble’s Hospital was circulated yesterday (Saturday) by loved ones and members of Isle of Man Constabulary and island judo squads.

Tributes have poured in to the ’giant of a man’ with candles being lit across the island in his memory.

The family of the David Corkish, 84, who was the first person to lose their battle against Covid-19 in the island, also gave a public tribute on social media to their ’hero’ of a father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

His son, Graham Corkish, urged others to stay safe by staying at home.

Since the last update at 4pm yesterday, there have been no further confirmed positive tests for coronavirus.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Isle of Man is 226.

Exactly 212 patients have been instructed to self-isolate and 12 are being treated at the hospital.

There have been 1,929 concluded tests, 59 people are awaiting results and 83 people are awaiting tests.

It is believed that 129 individuals have recovered from the virus.
