Staff at a law firm have raised cash for charity by getting active.
DQ Advocates put teamwork to the test in a series of sporty events at the company’s Douglas headquarters.
They took part in sporting challenges over three days in aid of Project 21, the Isle of Man organisation that supports and empowers people with learning difficulties.
It’s hoped the £300 raised will be used to provide more sporting activities at the charity’s headquarters, Centre 21 in Douglas.
Table football, crazy golf and basketball were among the series of office-themed challenges with participants completing the week with an epic 100-mile cycle challenge.
Professional cyclist Tom Mazzone brought a pro-exercise bike into the office as staff, collectively, cycled 100 miles and even managed to complete the distance with time to spare.
The Manxman is behind a business venture that promotes cycling in a variety of ways, including organising corporate cycling days, arranging fundraising challenges, mentoring, workshops and one-to-one training sessions.
Personal assistant at DQ Sarah Tyrer, who helped organise the games, said: ’It was so much fun. Everyone involved really got into the team spirit and at times it was even quite competitive!
’As well as providing healthy competition and a team ethic, a big thank you to Tom for supporting us all the way and to Cycle 360 who loaned him the bike.
’He inspired us to hit the 100-mile mark which was very rewarding and we wish him every success for the new season.’
