More than 300 shirts and 100 pairs of shorts and socks have been donated by Laxey AFC Juniors to Kits4Causes, a UK charity that distributes kits to social development projects around the world.
The kits were transported free of charge by Island Express to Kits4Causes who distributed them to children in poorer countries in Africa.
Mike Murley, club secretary of Laxey AFC, said: ’Thanks to international professional services provider Equiom’s sponsorship of the junior teams, more than 300 players received a new kit earlier this year.
’As their old shirts, socks and shorts are still in good condition, this gave us a great opportunity to do something with them that will really make a difference. Thank you to both Equiom and Island Express for making this all possible.’
Nina Johnston, managing director at Equiom Isle of Man, said: ’At Equiom, supporting the development of young people has always been a focus for us and we are pleased to be a part of this worthwhile initiative.’
