Libraries aren’t just about books says Castletown Library and it’s working hard to show it’s a friendly and welcoming place with a series of clubs and gatherings.

The lego club is on Mondays from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in the Civic Centre.

From Tuesday, January 16, until Easter there is story time for pre-school children from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

On Tuesday and Thursday (until half term holidays) will be after school craft sessions. This half term focuses on rock and pebble painting, all painting and colouring materials are provided, children must bring along rocks or pebbles. For all events there is no charge and no need to book; children must be accompanied by an adult.

On Wednesday, January 17, at 2pm the library hosts ’Down Memory Lane’ an informal get together to chat about the past; refreshments are provided. This month there is an audio sound bite relating to the shops of town. It is planned that this will be a regular monthly event.

’A Novel Idea’ - the library’s book club - meets on Monday, January 29, at 7pm in the library; tea and cake are provided. To attend contact Angela on 829355, or email [email protected].
