Broadway Cinema, in the Villa Marina, has made a healthy profit of just over £140,000 in the past three years.
The state-owned cinema, which is also used to host conferences, is the responsibility of the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
A Freedom of Information request also revealed how many cinema tickets have been sold since 2017.
In 2017/18, the cinema saw sales of 35,412 tickets, this rose to 41,773 in 2018/19 before falling to 38,445 in 2019/20.
This coincided with profits of £26,488, £73,215 and £42,361 for each year, making a total three-year profit of £142,064.
