Former education minister Julie Edge is at Douglas Courthouse to challenge the result of September’s Onchan election, asking for it to be declared void.

Ms Edge claims 79 ballot papers were unaccounted for and has raised concerns about how the count was conducted. She received 866 votes, finishing behind Rachel Glover, who was elected with 1,245 votes, and Rob Callister, who received 1,103.

Ms Edge is accompanied by her nephew Andrew Jones, who acted as her counting agent. Former MHKs Ann Corlett and David Quirk are also in court for the hearing.
