Tynwald meet for the first time in the new parliamentary term this morning (Tuesday, October 20), with questions on healthcare and education among the items on the agenda.
The sitting will see MHKs return to the debating chamber following September’s general election and last week’s Chief Minister question debate, with the newly elected Chief Minister Chris Thomas also set to move a motion calling for a published government programme outlining the island’s priorities, plans and legislative agenda.
Three questions for oral answer are scheduled, covering the recognition of teaching qualifications gained outside the British Islands, plans for a dedicated epilepsy specialist nursing service and waiting times for first cardiology outpatient appointments.
The order paper also includes the formal announcement of Royal Assent for six Acts, alongside a series of government reports, regulations and other documents to be laid before Tynwald.
