A chance question on Instagram led to a Douglas shop worker appearing in the Daily Star’s page three.

Lizzie Pope, 20, appeared topless in the UK newspaper last week.

A couple of weeks ago, the Star flew Lizzie to London, where she had her photos taken.

She said that this was the closest to feeling nervous she had been, but not over being topless.

’I’ve done topless pictures before and I’ve just thrown myself into it and never been nervous.

’But on my way down, I was just hoping they were going to be nice.

’Luckily they were all really nice people and really easy to work with.’

When she told her family and friends about the photoshoot, she said they were all pleased for her.

She added that her boyfriend Aaron Moore had always been ’very supportive’.

Lizzie’s modelling career started when she did a shoot with a photographer in Newcastle.

She put the photos on Instagram and was spotted there.

Lizzie has also done topless photoshoots before, mostly in the island.

Most of her pictures are taken by her boyfriend, Aaron, but she has also worked with professional photographers such as Steve Babb, who’s based in the island.

It was through Instagram that Lizzie got the chance to appear in page three as she was asked if she would be interested in appearing.

When she replied she would, Lizzie (pictured above) was sent the email address of the woman who organises photoshoots for the paper.

Lizzie said she doesn’t agree with people who call topless page three girls outdated or sexist.

The Daily Star is the last mainstream UK newspaper that still prints photos of topless women in page three.

She added: ’I think it is empowering, I really do.

’Some people have quite strong opinions about women appearing topless or being seen with no clothes on, but really it’s their views that are outdated.

’I love doing the photoshoots. I love being creative with it, choosing what to wear, where to do the pictures and so much more.

’With standard modelling it’s less free, whereas for lingerie and glamour modelling, you have to be thinking what people want to see and how to best create it.’

Following the success of her page three debut, Lizzie plans to do more photoshoots.

Next year she is due to fly to America’s west coast to work for two weeks.

’I’m going to be going to Los Angeles for two weeks and working with some photographers I have wanted to work with for a while and that again is a great opportunity,’ she said.

Away from photoshoots, Lizzie is planning to build a company specialising in cosmetics.

Originally from Liverpool, Lizzie moved to the Isle of Man just over two years ago after meeting her boyfriend Aaron on a night out when visiting a friend in the island.

She moved to the island to be with him.

Her day job is working in a clothes shop on Strand Street in Douglas.

Lizzie said: ’The island is really beautiful, quite small compared to Liverpool, but really pretty and the scenery is great.

’It’s almost like the Lake District.

’It’s just stunning and there are also so many places to use for photoshoots which is an even bigger bonus.’
