There were long queues at this civic amenity site after it reopened yesterday (Saturday).

Waiting times of up to 90 minutes were recorded at the southern civic amenity site.

The road outside has been made one-way to accommodate a lane for queuing vehicles.

A site spokesman said: ‘Thanks to all visitors today for their patience and for pre-sorting waste streams which allowed us to process 30 vehicles per hour throughout the day.

‘If you do plan on visiting the site, as a guideline, the queuing time from the railway crossing to accessing the site was approximately one hour.’.
