A remarkable little boy from Port St Mary is giving his Christmas gifts away to charity.

Lorcan Bridson, who is only two years old (three in February), announced his surprise decision last week to mum Samantha.

She said she was driving to work when Lorcan suddenly said he wanted to share his Christmas presents with other boys ’coz other boys are sad.’

Samantha said: ’I have no idea where this idea has come from as it’s not something we have ever done before.’

Through Facebook she got in touch with Alan Buck, who is coordinating donations to various charities from his flat in Douglas and Lorcan’s toys will go to a child staying at the Women’s Refuge (via Santa at the North Pole).

’I have been in touch with a gentleman who does an amazing job working with various charities helping everyone from young to old.

’He has let us know he knows of a three year old boy who won’t get anything from Father Christmas this year as the reindeer lost his address,’ she said.

’I am amazingly proud of my son and his kindness and also sad that there may be other children who may miss out on the magic of Christmas. We would love to spread the word that something so simple could make a child’s year.’
