The Castletown Ale Drinkers Society (CADS) joined forces with Ramsey Rugby Club to provide a mini version of its famous tin bath and snake races at Mooragh Park on Saturday.

This was the second year in a row that the Ramsey races have taken place following a trial last year.

The event, which raised £1,000 to be split between CADS and the Joey Dunlop Foundation, proved popular with 20 teams taking part in the afternoon’s tin bath and snake races.

TT star and Ramsey resident Conor Cummins was among the large crowd as he acted as the official starter.

The traditional Castletown event will take place in the middle harbour on Saturday, August 22 from 2.30pm.

Entries close a week on Sunday, August 9, for what will be the 49th year of the championships.
