Douglas will be rocked by bangs, feats of death-defying danger, mind-boggling experiments and loud explosions this weekend.

The Ministry of Science will return to the Isle of Man on Saturday, June 22, for two shows at the Gaiety Theatre from 1pm and 5pm.

The live-action event sees a group of mad-cap, but highly trained scientists conduct a series of thrilling and exciting experiments on stage, with the resulting reactions there to be seen or, in most cases, heard.

The Ministry of Science Live show is described as ’not being like an ordinary science show.’

From hair-raising experiments with static electricity, to igniting dangerous gases, through to the boffins building their own hovercraft on stage, the team behind the show promise you will not be bored.

From the shattering effects of freezing objects in liquid nitrogen to firing bottle rockets filled with hydrogen, the team will inform the members of the audience with their anarchic approach to education and science as well as thrill and excite.

There will also be a voice-over from the legendary booming voice behind the X-factor, Peter Dickson.

Tickets for the Ministry of Science Live show are £16.50 for an adult and £15 for under 16s, with a group of 10 or over being £14 each, available form the Welcome centre and the Villa Marina box office, on 600555, and online form villagaiety.com
