The island’s only male voice choir are to get back to rehearsals after its Covid-19 forced absence .

The Lon Dhoo Male Voice Choir (pictured above) are to re-start their weekly practices next week and are inviting anyone who would like to sing with the choir to come along.

The choir will return to their usual rehearsal home at Columba Catholic Social Club, Sydney Mount, on Wednesday, July 15 starting at 7.30pm.

’The boys, along with musical director Wendy McDowell and accompanist Regina Kaniewski are keen to get back together again after a five-month absence to exercise their vocal chords,’ said choir secretary Gary Corkill.

’For all those men who are now eager to get back out in the community after lockdown, a male voice choir is a perfect opportunity to try something new, and become part of a unique band of brothers. Anyone one, regardless of previous experience will be made most welcome.’
