James Myles Ormerod, aged 25, of Barregarrow, Kirk Michael, has been charged with four motoring offences.
He is accused of failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident, having no insurance, and careless driving.
The offences are alleged to have been committed on April 18.
Mr Ormerod was represented in court by duty advocate Ian Kermode, who asked for an adjournment until October 10 to allow time to make further enquiries.
Bail was granted in the sum of £500.
