This morning’s Steam Packet sailing to Heysham has been cancelled because of adverse weather.

The Manannan had been due to leave at 11am arriving in the Lancashire port at 1.15pm.

That sailing and the return journey from the UK this afternoon have been axed because of the weather.

Today will be cloudy and windy with fairly persistent outbreaks of rain, which may turn heavy at times, making driving conditions quite difficult with standing water developing on the island’s roads.

Very windy with a strong to gale force southwest wind, giving gusts quite widely of 40-45 mph, but perhaps up to 50 mph in more exposed spots.
