This morning’s Manannan sailing to Liverpool has returned to Douglas after a medical emergency on board.

It is understood passengers were informed just over half an hour into the journey that a fellow passenger had taken ill and required medical attention.

The vessel is due back in Douglas in the next few minutes with the company saying on its website a further update will be provided by 10am.

This has had a knock on effect to later sailings and passengers are advised to check the Steam Packet website for more details.
