Eighteen members of the Isle of Man Royal British Legion attended a First World War memorial service at the Menin Gate in Belgium.

The Great Pilgrimage 90 recreated the commemorations from 1928, which saw war widows and wounded veterans in Ypres visiting the war memorial.

Earlier this month, the representatives from the island joined over 2,000 people at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

Some 1,100 standards were in attendance, and the same number of wreaths were laid at the gate. The streets were lined with people as the parade marched down Menin road as many had done before going to the battle of the Somme in 1916.
