Welcome, dear reader, to another instalment in the Manx Sound Exchange!

The Festival of Motorcycling is here again and this weekend is also a bank holiday and so there’s plenty of bands to go out and see.

First this week and a new band plays its debut gig at the Quids Inn in Douglas tomorrow night (Friday).

If you’re a fan of all things Bon Jovi then this is well worth checking out.

Bon Jelski, featuring the lead vocals of Mike Jelski, pull out a set that delves deep and across all eras of the Bon Jovi back catalogue.

Expect earlier career cuts like Runaway, Living On A Prayer, You Give Love A Bad Name, I’ll Be There For You and Bed Of Roses to the later cuts like It’s My Life, Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night, In The Arms and These Days.

It’s free entry and the band hit the stage for a two hour set from around 9.15pm.

Elsewhere Jaks Bar in Douglas has been powering through the Festival of Motorcycling with a wealth of live bands this past week and this continues into the next.

Lazy Daze head to the stage there this Saturday.

Featuring a line-up made up by John Ruscoe on vocals and guitar, Lewis Moon on bass and Andy James on drums, the band pulls out a setlist featuring covers from the likes of The Stone Roses, Ocean Colour Scene, The Stereophonics, The Jam and more.

Over the next week or so, you can catch the likes of Symbollix, 995, The Rockits, Indigo, The Bobble Heads, Bombshell and Penthouse Dive in action and entertaining the MGP crowds.

Tomorrow night (Friday) sees Black Water Creek head to The Railway in Douglas.

The band that features Dave Cohen on bass and vocals, Liam Callow on guitar and Ross Doyle on drums specialise in classic rock covers from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Free and Judas Priest.

It all kicks off from 6.30pm and is free entry.

Heading down south now, and Compton Vaults welcomes DJ Chris Sterio for a full-on Saturday night rave.

You can also catch a host of live bands nightly from 8.30pm at The Trackside Bar at the Grandstand.

Across Race Week you’ll be able to see local groups 995, Final Cut, Bombshell, Lazy Daze, The Chris Winchester Band and The Tides.
