First up this week and Manx Iron Maiden tribute band, Ed Force One have announced a return to the stage on Saturday, March 30.

Their first live show since TT last year sees the band heading to the Institute in Laxey.

Fans of the band will know what they’re in for.

However for the uninitiated, the set list is made up for the most part of tracks from the earlier era of Maiden’s career and includes the likes of The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Aces High, Two Minutes To Midnight, The Number Of The Beast, Fear Of The Dark, Powerslave and The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, amongst many others.

Tickets can be purchased for £7.00 and further information can be found via tickettailor.com/events/edforceone

Head out west and to the Creek tonight and you’ll catch The Birds and The Beards in action.

The band features Steph Tomlinson on vocals, Nell Kneale and Mike Giles on guitars and Neil Bashaw on cajon in their line-up, and lean more toward the acoustic end of things.

They pull out a set of acoustic covers that includes the likes of Sting, The Stereophonics, Kenny Loggins, T-Rex, Stevie Wonder, Eric Carmen, Go West and Madonna amongst many many others.

Certainly an eclectic mix and well worth a look at if you’re in the area from around 9pm.

Staying with The Creek and on Saturday, Final Cut will be in residence.

The band is very much a regular fixture on the Manx live scene and features Ian Astill on guitar and vocals, Luke Chambers on bass and Ross Doyle on drums.

Together as a rock and blues power trio, the band pull out a set that features both covers and their own original tracks.

Influence wise think Joe Bonamassa, The Eagles, The Police, Radiohead, Muse and Thin Lizzy and you’ll be very much in the right ball park.

995 make a return to Jaks in Douglas this Saturday night.

The band drops a setlist that features a variety of pieces ranging from modern offerings, from the likes of One Republic and James Bay via Kings of Leon and Stereophonics, to older classics, from Jimi Hendrix, The Jam, Python Lee Jackson, The Cult and Steppenwolf amongst many others.

The band will hit the stage from around 10.00pm onwards.

Head across town on Saturday night and to The Basement Bar where The Chris Winchester Band will hit the stage from around 7.30pm.

The band, that features a line-up completed by Chris Winchester on guitar and vocals, Paul Tonks on keys and vocals and Mark Burrows on bass, play a set that features contemporary acoustic covers from the likes of Ed Sheeran and Coldplay amongst many others.
