After last week’s raft of new releases, there is news of yet another batch of new, original music being unleashed on the world this weekend.
Having spent the lockdown period playing regular nights from his home studio, solo superstar Steve Nash is limbering up to unveil his latest new single, ’Don’t Come Running Back To Me’.
Recorded by Phil Reynolds and released through Small Bear Records, the new single features guest vocals from singer Sabrina Jarzabek, best known as the front woman with goth rockers Slow Decay.
’Don’t Come Running Back To Me’ will get its first airing on the Christy DeHaven show on Manx Radio this coming Saturday, where Steve will be joined by both Phil and Sabrina, who will help with a live rendition of the new song, plus Steve’s last single ’Every Road Leads Back To You’.
’I’m really excited but quite nervous about this one as it is a little different to previous releases,’ said Steve.
’The new single, "Don’t Come Running Back To Me", is based on situations where you feel you have done everything you can, where friendships or relationships end because one person has built a wall and won’t let the other person back in and what goes on in the mind but being able to put the past behind and move forwards.
’The Previous Single Every Road Leads Back to You is a ballad which is written about fate, how every road always leads back to where you belong.
’We’ve looked at the production angle with the new single,’ he continued.
’Whilst we haven’t thrown the kitchen sink at it we have thrown most of the pipe work and taps at the track!
’As always the new single will be released on the wonderful Small Bear Records and Phil will be chatting about label stuff whilst we are on the wireless and likely tell everyone what a pain in the backside I am to work with.’
Before embarking on his solo career, Steve played bass for Maldune and Three Million.
He will be appearing at Quids Inn on Sunday night, from 7.15pm for an acoustic-led concert, including a set of originals and favourite covers, and will be joined on stage by Sabrina to give ’Don’t Come Running Back To Me’ its first live outing.
To date, Steve has released two full albums, including ’World Outside my Window’, which came out in 2016 and last year’s ’In The Distance I See a Light’, along with a hat-full of singles.

Elsewhere, out in the west, jazz folk combo Clash Vooar will be appearing at the Friday Folk session at the Atholl Room, in the Peel Centenary Centre, along with Shoh Slaynt’s Paul Reynold and Ken Crellin.
On the opposite side of the island, Manx blues and rock guitarist Barry Nelson will be joined by wife Val and fellow guitarist John Barker when the Blues Stragglers appear at the Laxey Institute on Saturday evening. Tickets are £5, available from etickets.im/ep
