Ideal Forgery visit our shores from the UK this weekend for a full-on tour of the the island.
Whilst based in Manchester, their link to the island is with drummer Peter Mitchell, who originally hails from these shores.
With a line-up consisting of Zak ’James’ Heaney on vocals and guitar, Polly ’Magic’ Virr on cello, George ’The Charm’ Wright on bass and Peter ’Owen’ Mitchell on drums and percussion.
Influences and musical styles lean from indie, acoustic, orchestral, post-punk and folk to rock and the band’s live shows feature a setlist with a mix of original pieces and alternative covers.
The band head Quids Inn on Thursday night, followed by a gig at the Compton Vaults, in Castletown on Friday.
They will kept busy on Saturday, with a session in Peter Norris’ Music, from 2pm on Saturday afternoon, and then on to Jaks in Douglas on Saturday night from 10pm.
In between those spots there’s the small matter of a support slot to Space at The Villa Marina earlier on in the evening as well.
They finishing their Manx travels with an unplugged sessions at the British from 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

Following his appearance on the Sunday Soundtrack Show on Manx Radio last weekend, Ian Thompson heads to his now regular slot at Jaks Bar in Douglas this Friday night.
Featuring a set made up from classics from the likes of The Kinks, David Bowie, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, R.E.M, and the like. If this sounds like the soundtrack to your type of night out then you can’t go far wrong. Ian will also be playing tracks from new latest album ’Meantime’ which will be released via U.S. label, The Spectra Music Group.

Elsewhere The Devil Note head to Peel this Saturday.
Featuring Simon Campbell on guitar with Suzy Starlite on bass, with, both sharing the vocal duties, the band play covers from the likes of John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers, Eric Clapton, Humble Pie, Cream and Free.
The band heads to The Creek this Saturday from 9.30pm.

Finally this week we head to the Institute in Laxey to celebrate the 100th birthday of The Manx Labour Party.
Featuring Aaron J Harwwod, Sy Hurst, Raine and David Kinley, the night then goes fully electric with a closing set from Phil Reynolds and The Dearly Departed.
It’s £5 on the door, with all profits to go to Housing Matters, the Isle of Man Foodbank and Women’s Aid (IOM). It’s also BYOB as there is no bar.However there will be free tea and coffee on site!
