The Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association has named an eight-strong team for July’s Commonwealth Youth Games.
Four Manx swimmers, three cyclists and an athlete will travel to the sixth CYG, which take place in the Bahamas between July 19-23.
Competing in the pool at the Games for 14 to 18 year olds will be Joel Watterson, Kazia Whittaker, Emma Hodgson and Euan MacMurchie.
Thomas Bostock, Will Draper and Tara Ferguson will represent the island in cycling and runner David Mullarkey will take part in the 1,500m track event.
Officials travelling with the team have yet to be finalised.
Isle of Man Commonwealth Games president Basil Bielich said: ’I would like to congratulate all the athletes who have been selected for the team. Not only is it a fantastic experience for these young athletes to be able to compete at international level but is also a great honour to be representing the Isle of Man.
’I hope they enjoy this amazing event and I’m sure they will do us all proud.’
